July 15, 2013: Today's edition of The Morning Swim Show kicks off a two-part series of shows featuring two coaches from opposite ends of the United States. On today’s episode, we talk to Northern Lights Swim Club head coach Cliff Murray, who has been coaching with the team for 15 years. He talks about the challenges of keeping year-round swimmers in Anchorage, Alaska, where the constant sun in the summer drives many swimmers away from the sport. But the sport continues to thrive in the winter months, and though the state has yet to produce a major nationally-ranked talent, the potential is there. Murray talks about the success of NCAA Division II swimmer Margot Adams and how she could be a role model for many swimmers afraid to test the waters outside of Alaska.
