This edition of The Morning Swim Show features an interview with first-time Olympian Ben Wildman-Tobriner and previews the Olympic matchup between Ian Crocker and Michael Phelps in the 100 butterfly.
Host Peter Busch talks to Wildman-Tobriner, the reigning world champion in the 50 freestyle, about training in Palo Alto, where Wildman-Tobriner lives. The two also discuss the competition in the men's 50 freestyle at the Olympics and the rehabilitation Wildman-Tobriner went through to heal his torn pectoral muscle, which he suffered during a weightlifting session last winter.
The final individual-race event preview from Swimming World senior writer John Lohn covers the men's 100 fly, which is essentially a discussion of the epic battle between Michael Phelps and Ian Crocker, who are almost assured to take the top two spots. The battle for the bronze medal, Lohn says, could take place among at least five other swimmers.
