April 15, 2013: Our Masters Monday series of interviews featuring top personalities in Masters swimming continues today on The Morning Swim Show with Mesa Aquatics Club head coaches Paul and Laura Smith. The two were always on deck in their earlier years as Masters swimmers, but now have shifted to coaching various levels of swimmers at Mesa Aquatics, just west of Phoenix. First, they discuss the journey to getting the four-year contract to run the Arena Grand Prix meet in Mesa and how cooperation with city government helped make it happen. That cooperation is also prevalent on a daily basis, as the city continues to promote the club and help it grow exponentially in the past four years from a small Masters team to a multi-sport entity.
