Michael Phelps and Nick Thoman are featured in two interviews today on The Morning Swim Show. In an interview done in Palo Alto, Calif., before the US team left for Asia, Phelps talks about training with his friend and chief rival, Ryan Lochte, the comparisons to Spitz, race strategies and being on another Olympic team with Dara Torres. He also discusses how he will take in the experience on his third Olympic trip. Last weekend at the US Open, Nick Thoman posted the second- and third-fastest 100 backstrokes in history. In an exclusive interview, Thoman talks about his expectations before the final of the 100 backstroke and then the final of the medley relay a day later. He said he was very nervous before the second race because he feared the first time he swam under 53 seconds was a fluke. Swimming the time again, he said, was a relief.
