MSS: Josh Schneider

Josh Schneider’s confidence since winning the 50 free at the Charlotte UltraSwim has grown exponentially, and he talks about his expectations for this summer on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show. Schneider, who posted his second-fastest time in the 50 free in Charlotte, talks about the physical and mental changes that have taken place since he lost the much-hyped swimoff last year with Cullen Jones. He also makes a bold prediction regarding the 50 freestyle at the Olympic Trials, and his thoughts on his 100 freestyle as well.

Josh Schneider returns to the show shortly after his time of 21.97 in the 50 free at nationals was reinstated. This puts him on his first national team and sets him up with an exciting swim-off with new teammate Cullen Jones for a spot on the world championship team. Schneider talks about the emotions of the day he swam the 50, why he admires Jones for his actions after the race and how the two train together in Charlotte.

Feb. 26, 2010: Cincinnati senior Josh Schneider has risen from a high school state champion who had never swum year-round to a contender for the NCAA title in the men's 50 free in just four years -- and he's still improving. The Cincinnati resident talks about his growth as a swimmer, why he didn't perform well at the NCAAs last year and what he still needs to work on in order to be among the best sprinters in the country.
