Dec. 14, 2012: The road to a third-straight team title won’t be easy for the Cal Golden Bears, and on today's edition of The Morning Swim Show men’s head coach Dave Durden talks about his outlook for the team halfway through the season. Durden details the team’s holiday training plans and how it does more than get them physically prepared for the championship season. This season has been one of changes, as he has said goodbye to a longtime assistant coach and welcomed a new one, one he believes will help the team beyond his distance expertise. Durden also relives the experience of watching Nathan Adrian win the 100 free at the Olympics, and the surprising place he was when his star pupil got to the wall first. Durden also explains the reason behind Tom Shields’ fall worldwide tour and how it could help him next semester at the NCAAs. Ryan Murphy is one of his biggest recruits ever, and he admits to a bit of concern about making sure Murphy continues to be successful in Berkeley.
