ZUMO Performance of the Week: Daniel Krueger Blasts 41.9 100 Free at Texas Intrasquad
Texas sophomore Daniel Krueger scored a huge 41.99 in the 100 free at the annual Texas orange vs. white intrasquad meet on Friday. Krueger got his sophomore campaign off to a flying start as he swam a 19.3 in the 50 free and also split a 18.9 in the 200 free relay. Texas has been known to drop some fast times in their intrasquad meet as the Longhorns put on some old jammers to see where they are early in the season.
Krueger was a finalist in 2019 as a freshman, placing fourth in the 100 at 41.5. He was the highest finishing returner and showed early on he is going to be tough to beat come March. There is a lot of time between now and then, but Krueger will be the national title favorite until someone goes faster.
For reference, Krueger was a 19.6 and 44.0 at Texas’ intrasquad meet a year ago.
