NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker and IMer Calysta Bartlett of Yucaipa, Calif. has pledged her verbal commitment to UNLV beginning in the fall of 2020.

Bartlett, who owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards, swims year-round with Yucaipa Swim Team and most recently placed fourth in the 400m IM at Santa Clarita Sectionals this past summer. Last winter, she raced three events at Juniors West and took seventh in the 400 IM at Carlsbad Sectionals. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.

She told Swimming World:

“UNLV was the perfect choice for me athletically and academically. The team felt like a family automatically. The coaches are onto an amazing thing I can’t wait to be a part of it! GO REBELS!!”

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:04.49
  • 200 breast – 2:18.85
  • 200 IM – 2:05.14
  • 400 IM – 4:23.13

Bartlett will make an immediate impact when she suits up for the Rebels as a member of the class of 2024 as her best times already rank at the top of their lineup. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 400 IM and 200 breast at the 2019 Mountain West Conference Championships.
