The YMCA Long Course National Swimming Championship will be held July 19 – 23, 2022, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. Since its debut in 1986, this national tournament has served to highlight outstanding swimming competition and celebrate achievement by young athletes

The YMCA Long Course National Swimming Championship last took place in 2019 in College Park, Md., with 115 swim teams competing. YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) cancelled the 2020 and 2021 national championships in order to comply with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Y-USA made this decision in an effort to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

The Long Course National Swimming Championship is part of the YMCA’s long-standing tradition to support the health and well-being of kids. Each year, millions of kids participate in Y youth sports like swimming, diving and gymnastics. Their participation helps build self-confidence and instills the importance of teamwork.
