Yellow Jackets Add Another For 2022, Earn Verbal From In-State Freestyler Allison Brown
NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has earned a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from in-state freestyler Allison Brown of Marietta, Ga.
She will join Anne Deedy, Ariana Dirkzwager, Caroline Porterfield, Kiah Smith, Sabina Mrzyglod and Kendal Chunn as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ Class of 2026.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Georgia Tech! Thank you to my family, coaches, and friends for their endless support in and out of the pool. I am so grateful to the Georgia Tech coaching staff for this opportunity. I can’t wait to be a part of this amazing team! Go Jackets!!”
Brown trains year-round with Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club and most recently earned six best times at Georgia Seniors in March and placed 14th in the 1000 free at Cary Sectionals in 2019. In July 2019, she recorded three top-15 finishes at Georgia Long Course Seniors.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.23
- 100 free – 52.50
- 200 free – 1:50.62
- 500 free – 4:56.92
- 1000 free – 10:23.51
Currently a junior at Lassiter High School, Brown is a five-time individual Georgia 6A State Championship finalist. She collected silver in both the 200 and 500 free in 2021 while taking fourth and seventh, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
The Yellow Jackets are also bringing in a large and talented Class of 2025 that includes Rachel Fulton, Defne Tacyildiz, Sophie Murphy, Clarissa Sabin, Caroline Pape, Sarah Livingston and Lily Burke.
