NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Nathan Wall of Cincinnati, Ohio has opted to remain close to home for his college career after verbally committing to Xavier University for the fall of 2021.

He told Swimming World:

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Xavier University! Thanks to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for helping me get where I am today. Can’t wait to be part of the team. GO MUSKIES!”

A versatile swimmer, Wall does his club swimming with Cincinnati Marlins and recently notched three best times at the August Intrasquad Meet. Last summer, he placed fifth in the 200m IM at the TYR Invite before going on to final in two events at Cleveland Sectionals where he achieved eight best times.

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:52.03
  • 400 IM – 3:58.45
  • 100 breast – 57.40
  • 200 breast – 2:04.44
  • 100 back – 52.09
  • 200 back – 1:54.46
  • 50 free – 21.98
  • 100 free – 46.72
  • 200 free – 1:42.33

Also competing for Saint Xavier High School, Wall has competed at the Ohio State Championships the last two years. He finished 11th in the 200 IM as a junior while taking 10th in that event during his sophomore season. He is also a four-time Southwest District finalist, finishing third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 back in 2020.

Wall will make an immediate impact when he suits up for the Musketeers as a member of the class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the A-final of the 400 IM as well as the B-final of the 200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 back, and 200 free at the 2020 Big East Championships where Xavier captured their fifth team title in the last seven years.
