Jared Ritz has verbally committed to swim for Coach Brent MacDonald at Xavier University. The high school senior is a captain of Victor Swim Club in Victor, New York, where he is a strong sprint to mid-distance freestyler.
Ritz shared,
“I chose Xavier because I really enjoyed the atmosphere on campus, family-like qualities of the team, and I immediately got the feeling it would be my home away from home.”
His best times are:
- 50 Free 22.17
- 100 Free 47.55
- 200 Free 1:41.80
- 500 Free 4:39.40
Ritz is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 200 freestyle and a multiple event Futures Championship finalist. The Xavier men won the 2016 Big East Conference Championship. Last year, Ritz would have been a B finalist in the 200 and 500 freestyle and would have just missed a second swim in the 100 free. In 2016, Alexander Wolfred (4:31.46) was the team’s top 500 freestyler and only event finalist, making Ritz a welcome addition.
