NEW COMMITS: Xavier University has picked up a pair of verbal commitments for the fall of 2020 from Mason, Ohio native Anna Baker and Emma Jury of Louisville, Ky.
Both swimmers are talented butterflyers and will add valuable depth to the Musketeers’ lineup when they arrive on campus as members of the class of 2024. Xavier finished second in the team standings at the 2019 Big East Championships.

Baker swims year-round with Mason Manta Rays and capped off her summer season by earning a best time at Geneva Futures and placing ninth in the 50m fly at Ohio LCM Seniors. Last winter, she raced six events at the Southern Premier Invitational where she notched a lifetime best and finaled in the 200 fly.
A current senior at Bishop Fenwick, Baker has competed at the Ohio State Championships each of her last two high school seasons. She most recently finished eighth in the 100 fly as a junior.
She told Swimming World:

- 50 fly – 26.42
- 100 fly – 56.27
- 200 fly – 2:04.77
EMMA JURY

Jury does her club swimming with Lakeside Swim Team and most recently competed in four events at NCSAs this past summer after recording four top-12 finishes at Kentucky LCM Seniors. Last winter, she finaled in the 200 fly at the Southern Premier Invitational before going on to earn bronze in that event at the Kentucky SCY Championships.
Also competing for Sacred Heart Academy, Jury is a six-time Kentucky State Championship finalist. She placed 10th in the 100 fly and 13th in the 500 free as a junior after taking 15th in the former event and eighth in the 200 free during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Xavier University! I want to thank my friends, family, and coaches for all their continued support. Can’t wait to be a Musketeer!”

- 200 fly – 2:05.31
- 200 free – 1:52.97
- 500 free – 5:05.29
