Xavier Brings In Verbal Commitment From Sprinter Ethan Wing
NEW COMMIT: Xavier University has recently gained a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2019 from Chesterton, Ind. native and freestyle sprinter Ethan Wing.
Wing does his club swimming with Duneland Swim Club and capped off his summer long course season with a pair of best times and 14th-place showings in the 50m and 100m freestyles at the Indiana LCM Senior Championships. He also placed sixth in the 200 free at Indiana SCY Seniors in March. Wing represented Chesterton High School at the Indiana State Championships as a junior where he placed eighth in the 100 free.
He told Swimming World:
“I am excited to announce my commitment to study and swim at Xavier University! I can’t wait to be a Musketeer for the next four years! #LetsgoX”
His best times include:
- 50 free – 21.31
- 100 free – 46.51
- 200 free – 1:43.21
When he suits up for the Musketeers as a member of the class of 2023, Wing will add valuable depth to a sprint freestyle group that includes Alexander Sironen, Matt Geraghty and Brandon Abboud. Wing would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles at the 2018 Big East Championships.
