Wyoming Scores Verbal From Texas Sprinter Cade Doherty

NEW COMMIT: The University of Wyoming has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from sprint freestyler and butterflyer Cade Doherty out of Richmond, Texas.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.96
  • 100 free – 46.71
  • 50 fly – 23.69
  • 100 fly – 50.97

Doherty trains year-round with First Colony Swim Team and last competed at Austin Futures where he earned four best times. He also raced three events at Lewisville Sectionals back in March.

Currently a senior at Foster High School, Doherty placed eighth in the 50 free and 12th in the 100 fly at the 2024 Texas UIL 5A State Championships. He took 14th in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 free at the state meet as a sophomore.

Wyoming competes in the Western Athletic Conference and finished fourth at the 2024 WAC Championships.
