Wyoming Rounds Up Pair of Verbal Commitments from Maisyn Klimczak, Lauren Swartz
NEW COMMITS: The University of Wyoming has rounded up a pair of verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Hanna, Ind. native Maisyn Klimczak and Lauren Swartz of West Chicago, Ill.
Both talented swimmers will join Caitlyn Groff, Sydney Metzler and Katie McPherson as a member of the Pokes’ class of 2025.
At the 2020 Mountain West Championships, Wyoming finished third overall in the team standings under head coach David Denniston.
MAISYN KLIMCZAK
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited and humbled to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Wyoming!? Thank you to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for helping me make this decision! Excited to be a cowgirl!!??”
Klimczak trains year-round with Duneland Swim Club and finished fifth in the 1000 free and seventh in the mile at Indiana Seniors in March 2019. Last summer, she won the 800m free and raced to sixth in the 1500m free at Indiana LCM Seniors.
Her best times include:
- 200 free – 1:52.30
- 500 free – 4:55.60
- 1000 free – 10:14.36
- 1650 free – 17:14.26
Also competing for Chesterton High School, Klimczak is a five-time Indiana State Championship finalist. The NISCA All-American finished fifth in the 500 free as a junior while taking fifth in that event as well as 13th in the 200 free during her sophomore season.
LAUREN SWARTZ
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am BEYOND excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming to continue my athletic and academic career. I want to thank everyone that helped me get here especially my coaches, teammates, and family. I cannot wait for the next 4!!! GO COWBOYS ??”
Swartz does her club swimming with Saint Charles Swim Team and placed 11th in the 100 breast at Illinois Seniors in March where she earned three best times.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.62
- 100 free – 53.24
- 100 breast – 1:05.30
- 100 fly – 58.32
Currently a senior at Saint Charles East High School, Swartz has competed at the Illinois State Championships the last two years. As a junior, she finished third in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 fly at the IHSA Saint Charles North Sectional Championships.
