Wyoming Rounds Up Another Verbal Pledge from Hannah Giles of Delta Aquatics
NEW COMMIT: The University of Wyoming has rounded up a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Oswego, Ill. native Hannah Giles.
She will join Maisyn Klimczak, Lauren Swartz, Caitlyn Groff, Sydney Metzler and Katie McPherson as a member of the Pokes’ class of 2025.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Wyoming!! I can’t wait to be part of such an amazing team! I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for all their support. I can’t wait to be a Cowgirl!!? Go Pokes!??”
Giles, who does her club swimming with Delta Aquatics, raced six events at Illinois Seniors in March and earned two best times at the BNSC Holiday Championship in December. In Summer 2019, she finaled in three events at Illinois LCM Seniors before going on to compete at Minneapolis Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 54.34
- 200 free – 1:56.48
- 500 free – 5:09.40
- 1000 free – 10:47.63
- 100 fly – 58.06
Also competing for Oswego Co-op High School, Giles has raced at the Illinois State Championship Sectional meet the last two years. She finished 10th in the 100 fly as a senior while taking 13th in that event during her junior season.
At the 2020 Mountain West Championships, Wyoming finished third overall in the team standings under head coach David Denniston.
