Wyoming Cowgirls Round Up Verbal from Colorado 5A State Finalist Britt Nichols
NEW COMMIT: Littleton, Colo. freestyler Britt Nichols has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming and will join the Cowgirls next fall.
Nichols does her club swimming with Highlands Ranch Aquatics and most recently competed at Colorado LCM Seniors this past summer where her highest finish was a fifth-place showing in the 800m free. Last winter, she raced six events at Phoenix Sectionals en route to recording a best time in the 1000 free.
Also competing for Rock Canyon High School, Nichols is a five-time Colorado 5A State Championship finalist. She placed 11th in the 500 free and 15th in the 200 free as a junior after taking fifth and 15th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Wyoming! I am so thankful to all my coaches, friends, and family for believing in me and helping me become the person I am today. I can’t wait to be a cowgirl! GO POKES!!!”

- 500 free – 5:02.06
- 1000 free – 10:31.40
- 200 fly – 2:09.83
Nichols will add valuable depth to Wyoming’s lineup and she’ll add her talents to a mid-distance training group that’ll include Katelyn Blattner, Lainee Jones and Kristen Covello. She will join her club teammate, Brooke Ford, as well as Kali Franckowiak as members of the Cowgirls’ class of 2024.
