FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida, August 16. LAST night's epic duel in the men's 400 IM, in which both Michael Phelps and Erik Vendt broke the world record, and Natalie Coughlin's earlier WR in the 100m back have raised two challenging trivia questions.
Are you ready, swim trivia buffs?
1. On how many other occasions since 1980, have two swimmers broken the world record in the same race held in the United States? (For each, provide event, names of swimmers, times, date.)
2. Natalie Coughlin is coached by Teri McKeever. Can you name any other world record-setters who were coached (at the time they set their records) by a female coach?
