World Juniors Silver Medalist Haley McDonald Verbally Commits to Texas for 2025
NEW COMMIT: Olympic Trials qualifier Haley McDonald of Louisville, Kentucky, who is a member of the U.S. National Junior Team, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Texas for Fall 2025.
Regarding her commitment, she said:

McDonald earned silver in the 200m IM at World Junior Championships this past summer. She finished 10th in that event, as well as 11th in the 400m IM and 16th in the 200m back, at Phillips 66 Nationals. She also won four events at the NCSA Summer Championships, marking an incredible long course season.
Last winter, she finaled in six events at Juniors East, highlighted by a eighth-place showing in the 200 back. She trains year-round with Lakeside Swim Team.
Her best times include:
- 200 back: 1:54.78
- 100 back: 53.80
- 400 IM: 4:12.26
- 200 IM: 1:58.08
- 200 free: 1:46.47
- 100 free: 49.64
Currently a junior at Sacred Heart Academy, McDonald won the 200 IM and 500 free at the Kentucky State Championships during both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
McDonald will join a Longhorn squad with best times that are just on the brink of scoring range at the NCAA Championships.
