Australia Looking Ominous In Women’s 4×100 Free Relay; USA, Canada & GB Through

Australia are the current Olympic and world champions in the women’s 4×100 freestyle and will once more do battle in Saturday’s final.

Only 11 teams lined up in two heats with Tokyo silver medallists Canada winning the first prelim in 3:35.34.

Madi Wilson led off the Australia in 52.99 – to make it four Australians in the top five of the 100 free in 2022 – with the quartet under world-record pace at halfway.

Brianna Throssell leading the team home in 3:33.74 to book lane four with Mollie O’Callaghan and Shayna Jack to slot in for the final.

The USA booked lane five in 3:35.23 with Canada third and Britain fourth in 3:36.24.
