Women in Coaching Clinic Announces Pam Swander as Keynote Speaker
STANFORD, California, February 26. THE Women in Coaching Clinic has announced their speaker lineup for the annual Spring Clinic hosted at the Stanford Campus Recreational Sports Complex on Stanford Campus on April 12th, 2014.
The Women in Coaching Clinic organizers are pleased to announce this year’s speakers, including Keynote Speaker, Pam Swander! Swander is the North Region Manager and Head Coach at SwimMAC Carolina following her role as the Assistant Head Coach for Women’s Swimming at Indiana University.
Throughout her coaching career, Swander has worked with multiple US National and Olympic level athletes and held several positions within USA Swimming, including a 2 year stretch as the Director of The USA Select Camps. Swander’s commitment to excellence in the water, in the board room, and in the education and mentorship of her fellow coaches allows her to be a true role model to the entire coaching community!
Along with Swander’s presentation, this year’s clinic will feature talks, in water demonstrations and tech presentations from Abi Liu (PEAK), Dana Kirk (PASA), Aimee Lehr (Aqua Sol), Veronica Hernandez (Albany Armada), as well as Team Unify and Active Network. Liu will be running an in the water/out of the water video combo where she will walk participants through drills and progressions that she has used to take her team and swimmers to the top of the country. Kirk will focus on the increasingly important role of dryland in a club’s programming, especially when water time is limited. Lehr’s presentation will outline developing team and group identities to help swimmers achieve their highest potential. Hernandez will lead a discussion on coach involvement with club, LSC, and/or National Swimming Organizations, and points of entry to leadership positions for new and experienced coaches alike. Team Unify will be present and offer Q&A for their current team management technology.
The Women In Coaching Clinic has a unique focus toward active coach participation! Those that choose to attend this clinic will be involved in small and large group discussions where they can get their questions answered and their ideas heard! This clinic is not “just for the girls”, we choose to highlight and invite awesome female coaches, but the skills and messages we are speaking on are universal to our sport!
