Wolfpack Secure 2023 Verbal From North Carolina Aquatic Club’s Hayley Clark
NEW COMMIT: NC State University has landed another in-state recruit for the 2023-24 season and beyond as U.S. Open qualifier Hayley Clark of Chapel Hill, N.C. has announced her verbal commitment.
She will join fellow in-state native Keelan Cotter in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2027.
She told Swimming World:
“I am incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at NC State University!!! From the moment I first stepped on campus I knew it was the place for me. A huge thanks to my family, friends and coaches for their endless support. GO PACK!!”
A versatile swimmer, Clark swims for North Carolina Aquatic Club and is coming off a stellar summer where she earned best times in all of her events at Greensboro Sectionals en route to placing 15th in the 200m IM. She was the runner-up in the 1000 free at the Florida Senior North Championships and placed seventh in the 200m breast/200m IM/400m IM at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup in Orlando.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:04.04
- 400 IM – 4:26.69
- 100 breast – 1:04.81
- 200 free – 1:50.72
- 500 free – 4:54.64
- 1000 free – 10:05.78
When she competed for Windermere High School in Florida, Clark placed fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 500 free as a sophomore at the Florida 4A State Championships. She took sixth and fourth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts in the classroom.
Under head coach Braden Holloway, NC State finished and were the runners-up at both the ACC and NCAA Championships in 2021.
