Wolfpack Keep Sprinter Sydney Holfelder In State For 2025
NEW COMMIT: NC State University has received a verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from in-state sprint freestyler Sydney Holfelder of Holly Springs, N.C.
She told Swimming World:
“I decided to commit to NC State because of how much I loved the team and coaching staff. They were all so welcoming, and NC State really felt like home to me. Being close to home and my family is always a bonus as well!”
Holfelder does her club swimming with TAC Titans and owns Junior National qualifying standards in the 50 and 100 free. She finaled in the 50m free this past summer at Ocala Futures. Last winter, she won the 50 free and 200 free at the TAC Titans Blizzard Blitz.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.42
- 100 free – 51.08
- 200 free – 1:50.18
- 50m free – 26.53
- 100m free – 58.08
- 200m free – 2:06.28
Currently a junior at Apex Friendship High School, Holfelder placed third in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free at the North Carolina 4A State Championship last season as a sophomore.
