Maddie Morello has given her verbal commitment to NC State. The high school senior swims for Coast Guard Blue Dolphins. She is mainly a sprint freestyler and backstroker.

The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American goes to Menchville High School. At the 2016 Virginia 5A High School State Championships she finished second in the 100 back (56.96) and fourth in the 100 free (51.88).
While the NC State women finished second at ACCs last year, Morello is just outside scoring range. Her best time is eight tenths shy of scoring in the 100 freestyle. After a season in the Wolfpack sprint program, Morello could make the improvements to be in scoring range.
