Wolfpack Earn Verbal Commitment From U.S. Open Qualifier Lauren Malinowski
NEW COMMIT: U.S. Open qualifier Lauren Malinowski of Wauwatosa, Wis. has given her verbal commitment to NC State and suit up for the Wolfpack as a member of the Class of 2026.
She will join Tamryn van Selm, Casaundra Moses, Aubree Brouwer, Meghan Donald, Grace Monahan, Kennedy Noble, Emma Hastings and Katherine Helms in Raleigh at the start of the 2022-23 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and studies at North Carolina State University!!! I am beyond grateful for the friends, family, and mentors who have shown me unconditional support and guidance throughout this journey. I couldn’t be more excited for what the next 4 years have in store. Go Wolfpack❤️?”
A talented butterflyer, Malinowski does her club swimming with Waukesha Express Swim Team and earned two best times at the TYR 18&U Championships in Des Moines back in the spring after placing sixth in the 50 fly at NCSAs. She also won the 100 fly at the Wisconsin 13&O Championships last short course season.
Malinowski was a two-time champion at the 18&U Winter Championships – WI WEST in December, too.
Her best times include:
- 50 fly – 24.72
- 100 fly – 54.04
- 200 fly – 1:59.57
- 50 free – 23.27
- 100 free – 50.22
- 200 free – 1:49.82
- 200 IM – 2:06.14
A rising senior at Wauwatosa West High School, Malinowski is a five-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She placed second in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free as a junior while taking third in the 100 fly and 11th in the 50 free during her sophomore season.
She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts in the classroom.
With her best times at the moment, Malinowski would’ve placed in the C-final of the 200 fly at the 2021 ACC Championships where NC State was the team runner-up.
