William Kerscher of Highlands Ranch Aquatics Gives Verbal to Emory

NEW COMMIT: Emory University has scored a verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from William Kerscher of Denver, Colo.

Kerscher does his club swimming with Highlands Ranch Aquatics and earned 100% best times at Des Moines Futures this past summer after placing 14th in the 50m free at Colorado LCM Seniors. Last winter, he notched a pair of lifetime bests at Phoenix Sectionals where he finaled in three events.

Also competing for Regis Jesuit High School where he is the team captain, Kerscher is a four-time Colorado 5A State Championship finalist. He finished seventh in both the 100 free and 200 IM as a junior while taking eighth in the  200 IM and 13th in the 100 breast during his sophomore season.

He told Swimming World:

“I am so proud and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Emory University. Go Eagles!”

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:54.66
  • 400 IM – 4:08.13
  • 200 breast – 2:09.66
  • 50 free – 21.76
  • 100 free – 46.98

Kerscher will be a valuable addition to the Eagles’ lineup when he arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024. He has consistently made improvements each season and his best times are already in scoring range at the UAA Championships.
