Katelyn Blattner has verbally committed to the University of Wyoming. The Wichita, Kansas native swims for the Wichita Aqua Shocks where she is a long-axis swimmer.

Her best times are:

  • 100 Back 58.57
  • 200 Back 2:04.66
  • 200 Free 1:51.49
  • 500 Free 4:58.55
  • 1000 Free 10:27.19

Blattner wrote,

“I am super duper excited and blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at the University of Wyoming! There are so many people I want to thank for helping me through this process including my family, friends, teammates, and coaches! GO POKES!”

At the 2016 Mountain West Conference Championship, Wyoming finished fourth. Blattner will join a backstroke group that will be led by senior Kelly Anna Sheldon and will also include Marcela Gramcko in the 2017-2018 season. Blattner would have been a 200 freestyle C finalist last year. Sheldon was the Cowgirls’ top finisher in that event as well. With a little improvement, Blattner could be in the running for an 800 freestyle relay spot. Last year’s splits ranged from 1:48.45 to 1:51.17.
