Virginia Scores 2026 Pledge From Sprinter Caden Martin
NEW COMMIT: Sprint freestyler and Olympic Trials qualifier Caden Martin has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Virginia beginning in Fall 2026. Originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas, she now lives in Cary, North Carolina.
Martin is currently one of the top sprint freestylers in her class, ranking in the top five in both the 50 free and 100 free.
She will join Roos Rottink and Alyssa Sagle in Charlottesville as a member of the Cavaliers’ Class of 2030.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, teachers, and coaches for their unwavering support. I would also like to thank the entire UVA staff for this incredible opportunity! GO HOOS!”
When in Arkansas, Martin swam for Razorback Aquatic Club Aquahawgs; She now is attached to TAC Titans. She raced the 50m free this past summer at Olympic Trials before earning bronze in that event at Austin Futures. Last winter, she finished 18th in the 50 free at Juniors West and collected bronze in both the 50m free and 100m free at Columbia Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 22.21
- 100 free – 49.22
She attended Haas Hall Academy as a freshman and sophomore in Arkansas and is now a junior at Cary Academy. She won the 50 free and 100 free at the 2024 Arkansas 1-4A State Championships.
Virginia is the four-time defending national champion.
