Villanova Wildcats Secure Verbal Commitments from Henry Halloran and Andrew Mitchell
NEW COMMITS: Villanova University has picked up two new verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Atlanta, Ga. native Henry Halloran and Andrew Mitchell of Killingworth, Connecticut.
Both swimmers will join Carson Brockette as a member of the Wildcats’ class of 2025.
HENRY HALLORAN
He told Swimming World:

A talented breaststroker and IMer, Halloran swims year-round with Dynamo Swim Club and earned five best times at the Southern Premier Invitational in March. He earned bronze in the 400 IM at Georgia Seniors in December and placed 13th in the 200m breast at Greensboro Futures last summer where he earned 100% best times.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 58.61
- 200 breast – 2:05.34
- 200 IM – 1:53.17
- 400 IM – 4:01.87
Also competing for St. Pius X Catholic High School, Halloran is a six-time Georgia 4-5A State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed second in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast as a junior while taking fifth in the 500 free and sixth in the 100 breast during his sophomore season.
ANDREW MITCHELL
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Villanova! I want to thank everyone who has been there for me along the way and who has kept me on track when things were tough. I’m looking forward to spending my senior year at Xavier with all my friends and family and I can’t wait to become a part of the Villanova swim and dive team! #GoCats”
Also a talented breaststroker, Mitchell does his club swimming with Middlesex Aquatics Club and notched three lifetime bests at Connecticut Seniors in February while recording five top-8 finishes. He also won two events at the 18th Annual Bruce Hutchinson Holiday Classic in December and placed fourth in the 100m breast at Senior Zones last long course season.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 57.56
- 200 breast – 2:04.02
- 200 free – 1:40.84
- 500 free – 4:38.26
- 1000 free – 9:31.94
- 400 IM – 4:07.33
A current senior at Xavier High School, Mitchell is a six-time Southern Connecticut Conference Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 breast and 200 free during his junior campaign after taking third in both of those events as a sophomore. He also took seventh and eighth, respectively, in those races at the CIAC State Meet in 2019.
