VIDEO: Tribute to Chuck Wielgus from NBC Sports

During the broadcast of the Arena Pro Swim Series meet in Atlanta this past weekend, NBC Sports paid tribute to longtime USA Swimming CEO Chuck Wielgus, who passed away last month. The video of that tribute was posted on YouTube and is available here.

Rowdy Gaines provided the intro for the video. Referring to Wielgus as “my mentor and my pal,” Gaines became emotional in describing what Wielgus had meant to the sport and to Gaines. Dan Hicks, NBC’s play-by-play announcer for Olympic swimming since 1996, narrated the remainder of the video about Wielgus’ life, his battle with colon cancer and what he leaves behind.
