After qualifying first and second, respectively, for the finals of the 400 free at Olympic Trials, Katie Ledecky and Leah Smith both stopped by to speak with Swimming World.
Ledecky spoke about how she feels getting into the meet and how she will approach the pressure-packed atmosphere of Olympic Trials in finals, even if she does enter as the heavy favorite.
Smith commented on the difference between these Trials and those of four years ago when she was a newcomer to the National stage. She talked about how she has swum so fast all-season and how she hopes to carry that speed through to tonight and also how she will react mentally in the final if Ledecky opens up a big lead.
