Video Interview: Will Licon Bounces Back in 200 IM
It had a rough meet so far for Will Licon. He finished last in the consolation final of the 100 breast on Thursday after scratching out of the B-final of the 400 IM after placing tenth. But he had two days off before he next competed in the 200 IM, and Licon used that to his advantage, blasting his way to a 1:58.50 to earn the top seed for this evening’s finals ahead of Austin Surhoff and Michael Phelps.
Licon’s time places him into the world rankings this year at 17th. After the swim, Licon spoke to Swimming World about what he had changed over the previous three days to rebound for this event and how he feels about going into the final as the top seed swimming next to Surhoff and Phelps. Licon also shared what he expects from himself in the 200 breast on Monday.
Nice 🙂
