SANTA CLARA, California, June 21. TOM Shields was encouraged by the performance he put together in the 100 fly at the Arena Grand Prix in Santa Clara after returning from the Mare Nostrum tour in Europe, from race strategy to splits.
In this video interview after the 100 fly, Shields expressed plenty of optimism about his progress in the 100 long course butterfly based on his splits and stroke count. He also looks back on the experience of the Mare Nostrum tour, saying “you get sharper through that, you get fitter through that.”
