Simone Manuel has not competed since the World Championships, pulling out of the USA College Challenge and then sitting out Stanford’s first several meets of the college season as she recovers from a hip injury.
On the red carpet at Golden Goggles, Manuel gave an update on her recovery from the injury and explained that she has been going through full practices — of pulling only. She was able to travel with the Stanford team to the Art Adamson Invitational over the weekend, and she discussed what it’s like going from the competitive grind of a meet to the formal awards dinner in LA.
