In his first full season away from college swimming, life has changed for Ryan Murphy. He won the 100 back Friday at Winter Nationals in Columbus, but he explained why it was weird to be at Nationals at all instead of being at a mid-season college meet.
Murphy explained what the focus of his training has been this fall and discussed how his season plan and his focus are different now that he’s gunning for a meet eight months away, as opposed to one in March. He also explained why he figures the toughest part of the long season is behind him and how he views a Nationals as a soon-to-be college graduate with a business degree.
Murphy also chatted about the California men’s team and their hopes for this season in his absence.
