(Video Interview) Missy Franklin, Todd Schmitz Share Excitement Over 200 Freestyle

Missy Franklin was seeping joy when she spoke with Swimming World after securing her individual Olympic berth with a second place 200 freestyle finish. After a rough night last night, she put it all on the line in tonight’s final. Franklin reflected on what she did to get to this point mentally. The 21 year old sees room for improvement moving forward but was relieved to finally be Rio bound.
Franklin’s coach Todd Schmitz was incredibly proud of his top swimmer for her ability to race tonight. He emphasized the need to race and was excited about how she executed her strategy. Schmitz shares his plan for Missy to improve and return to her personal best time.
