AUSTIN, Texas, March 27. THE California Golden Bears had a stellar day of competition at the NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships, and two of the team’s top athletes spoke about their performances in a media interview.
Along with head coach Dave Durden, swimmers Ryan Murphy and Seth Stubblefield expanded on the team aspect of trying to bring out the best performance in everyone. Though that was very evident on the winning relays tonight, it was also on display in the individual events.
Murphy talked about competing in his first NCAA championships, while Stubblefield discussed the emotion of the day that included two relay victories for him. Durden talks about the importance of strong relays and having a strong support system among the California fans in the stands.
