Versatile Aly Breslin of Upper Dublin Aquatic Club Gives Verbal Nod to Tennessee
NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Fort Washington, Penn. native Aly Breslin.
A versatile swimmer, Breslin swims year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and most recently recorded five best times at Middle Atlantic Seniors in March where she registered seven top-12 finishes. Last summer, she placed ninth in the 200m breast at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors before going on to final in the 200m free at NCSAs.
Also competing for Upper Dublin High School, Breslin is a four-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. She placed seventh in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 breast as a junior after finishing seventh and 10th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Tennessee! Huge thanks to my friends, family, teammates, and coaches for all of their love and support over the years! Can’t wait to be a Lady Vol!!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.45
- 100 free – 52.17
- 200 free – 1:51.61
- 500 free – 4:54.68
- 100 breast – 1:03.79
- 200 breast – 2:19.32
- 200 IM – 2:03.32
- 400 IM – 4:24.06
Although she’s not in scoring range just yet at the SEC Championships, Breslin’s versatility will be extremely beneficial for the Lady Vols and she could find herself in a number of different events during her four years in Knoxville. When she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024, she’ll add her talents to training groups that’ll include Amanda Nunan, Sinclair Larson and Nikol Popov.
