USC Swims Past UC San Diego, Utah Behind Michal Chimielewski, Kaitlyn Dobler

The USC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams earned wins on Friday.

The Trojan men beat UC San Diego 187-72 and the women beat UC San Diego 185-69 and Utah 172.5-84.5.

In the men’s meet, USC claimed victory in the opening 200 medley relay. Vaggelis Makrygiannis, Chris O’Grady, Michal Chimielewski and Artem Selin won in 1:28.46.

Chimielewski won the 1000 freestyle (9:28.73), 100 fly (48.41) and 100 backstroke (48.52). O’Grady won the 100 breast (54.94). Selin won the 50 free (20.17) and 100 free (44.69). Makrygiannis won the 200 back (1:46.98).

USC’s Ben Dillard won the 200 free (1:37.91) and 200 breast (1:58.53). Krzysztof Chimielewski won the 200 fly (1:44.97) and 500 free (4:23.37).

In the women’s meet, USC opened with a 200 medley relay win as Caroline Famous, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Vasilissa Buinaia won in 1:40.73.

Famous won the 100 backstroke (54.12). Dobler won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.85) and 200 breast (2:17.17). Delgado won the 50 free (23.30) and 100 free (50.21).

USC’s Claire Tuggle won the 1000 freestyle (9:56.52) and 500 free (4:51.78). Sophia Kudryashova won the 200 free (1:49.76). Geneveieve Sasseville won the 200 fly (2:02.63). Alice Waldow won the 200 back (1:59.87). Justina Kozan won the 100 fly (55.86).

Utah’s Summer Stanfield won the 200 IM in 2:04.44.
