USC Starts Class of 2024 Recruiting With Verbal From Freestyler Addie Sauickie
NEW COMMIT: The University of Southern California has received a new verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from rangy freestyler Addison “Addie” Sauickie of Sarasota, Florida.
She told Swimming World:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Southern California! I want to thank my friends, family, coaches, and teammates for their endless support. FIGHT ON”
Sauickie does her club swimming with Sarasota Sharks and won the 50m/100m free at Cary Futures this past summer where she also took second in the 200m/400m free and 200m back as well as sixth in the 100m fly. She raced to 17th in the 400m free and 18th in the 200m free at Phillips 66 International Team Trials in April, too.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 49.78
- 200 free – 1:46.50
- 500 free – 4:47.23
- 1000 free – 10:10.96
- 1650 free – 16:38.84
- 100 fly – 55.28
Currently a junior at Riverview High School, Sauickie won the 200 free and took fifth in the 500 free at the Florida 4A State Championships last season. She raced to second and first, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
Sauickie is a great pickup for USC as her top times would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 free and the B-final of the 500 free at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships.
