For the last decade, women’s water polo has been making the steady climb into the national spotlight. With the creation of more and more women’s programs at the collegiate level, more athletes are getting the opportunity to showcase their skills as a higher level. Azevedo: The Excellent Amateur
USA Water Polo driver Tony Azevedo has been selected to the list of 14 finalists in the running for the 72nd Annual AAU James E. Sullivan Award. The award is presented annually to the top amateur athlete in the United States by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), and is based as much on leadership, character, and sportsmanship, as it is on athletic accomplishment.
