USA Swimming Trials: Day Four Expert Analysis
Editorial Coverage provided by
With the fourth night of U.S. Olympic Trials complete, 20 first-time Olympians have already qualified to represent Team USA, and we’re just at the meet’s halfway point. But on this night, it was a pair of the sport’s biggest stars who made the headlines and deservedly so.
To break it all down, Swimming World’s David Rieder again joined with SwimVortex’s John Lohn to recap the three finals on the night. They discussed what it means for Katie Ledecky to win the 200 free and Missy Franklin to get second, looked at the ramifications of Michael Phelps’ victory in the 200 fly and recapped the back-and-forth race in the women’s 200 IM.
They also looked at the three semifinals contested and assessed the state to which American swim fans need to be panicking about the three events, and then they looked ahead to Ryan Lochte’s return to action on day five.
