USA Swimming released the time standards for the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships, via the USA Swimming Stats Twitter account.
The qualifying period for the meet began June 1, 2018 and will close through the entry deadline a few days before the meet begins July 31, 2019.
The meet will be held in Palo Alto, California at the Avery Aquatic Center on the campus of Stanford University. Stanford last held the Nationals meet in 2011.
The 2019 Phillips 66 Nationals will be held a few days after the conclusion of the World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, so many of the World Championship team might choose to skip the meet in favor of more recovery time before the Olympic year. In 2015, Summer Nationals were held in the middle of the World Championship meet while in 2011, the Worlds concluded a few days before Nationals.
The Nationals meet will also be held in the middle of the Pan American Games and a couple weeks after the conclusion of the World University Games. USA Swimming has not named the teams for either of those competitions yet.
USA Swimming is also set to announce the time standards for the 2020 Olympic Trials tomorrow in a live webcast. They have already announced the official dates of the big show in two years.
