Dana Vollmer spoke about the paralyzing fear she experienced at the 2008 Olympic Trials, and how that started her on a path to enjoying the sport again.
She also reflected on one of her favorite moments in swimming, watching somebody else make the Olympic Team in 2000. Vollmer experienced it for herself when she made the team in 2004.
The self-proclaimed “Mama on a Mission” explained how she has balanced elite performance and exceptional parenting. The 28 year old will be swimming the 100 butterfly in her third Olympics. Vollmer has posted the sixth best time in the world this year.
