Cierra Runge decided at age four that she wanted to be an Olympian. Once swim lessons were a success, Runge continued in the sport.
She described receiving her first USA swim caps, and then placing second at PanPacs in 2014. Those experiences helped her realize that the Olympic dream truly was a possibility for her.
Runge also spoke about the support from her parents, and how her mom handles watching her race. The NBAC swimmer will now make her Olympic debut as a member of the 800 freestyle relay.
