Chase Kalisz has spent the past year swimming alongside Michael Phelps. In the video introducing Kalisz as a member of the 2016 Olympic Team, the 22 year old reflected on some of his early memories of the GOAT.
He and his North Baltimore teammates used to collect Phelps’ autograph, and Kalisz considers it to be among his top swimming memories.
Kalisz will swim the 400 IM in his first Olympic Games. Kalisz has posted the second best time in the world this year. At Olympic Trials in 2012, he finished sixth in that event, but appreciated the opportunity to race some of the best in the world.
