USA Pentathlon Presents 2014 Biathle National Championships
USA Pentathlon presents the 2014 Biathle National Championships from September 24 to 29, 2014 organized at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Biathle is an event of the Olympic Sport Modern Pentathlon and consists of a run-swim-run format with continuous transitions. Biathle was created in 1998 and has a large global following. This is the first US Nationals and will select the US members to be invited to the Biathle World Championships in Guatemala October 8-12. (see below)
RULES
A Biathle competition is organized as a non-stop, continuous event consisting of RUN-SWIM-RUN with transitions between each “leg”. Athletes must wear a swimsuit or tight-fitting one-piece body suit capable of being worn for each segment of the competition. Wetsuits are not permitted for the US Nationals. Running shoes may not be worn when swimming. All athletes start together in “pack start” style. The swim will be held at the US Olympic Training Center 50 meter pool and will be done in serpentine fashion (done one lane and return in the next lane over). The running surface will be grass, concrete and asphalt on the grounds of the Olympic Training Center. There will be multiple heats based on age-groups. Youngest start first. Each heat will start approximately every 30 minutes.
Meals and Lodging
There is limited lodging and meals available at the US Olympic Training Center. Lodging is dorm style with 2 or 3 athletes in a room. All rooms are gender specific. Unlimited meals are available from 6 AM until 8:30 PM daily at the USOTC dining hall. Airport pick-up provided from Colorado Springs if travel info provided before Sept. 20. SPACE IS LIMITED _ FIRST COME / FIRST SERVED. See costs below. Additional Housing is available in the Colorado Springs area.

Registration
General registration is open from July 15 to September 20, 2014. Late entries will be accepted with a late fee. Registration will be closed for late entries 2 hours before the start of the event.
Athletes may register by emailing to Shannon LaBianco at SLaBianco@usapentathlon.org . If you require lodging at the USOTC, we would ask you to apply early to secure beds at the Olympic Training Center. Athletes may arrive for the competition a day before on September 26. Training sessions and clinics will be offered before the competition.
General Information
Biathle Clinics Running and Swimming – Clinics wil be conducted by USA Pentathlon High Performance Director Dr. Genadijus Sokolovas and USA Pentathlon Head Coach, Olympic Champion, Janusz Peciak.
Dr. Sokolovas known as Dr. G by elite athletes everywhere works with the best swimmers in the world on a daily basis. His patented testing systems and extraordinary knowledge can make the difference between winning and losing for any serious competitor.
Janusz Peciak, 1976 Pentathlon Olympic Champion from Poland is the head coach of Team USA. He brings nearly 50 years of experience as an athlete and elite level coach. His knowledge of training programs and systems is without equal.
Clinics are at no additional charge for athletes staying at the USOTC. For those staying outside there is a nominal fee of $10 per session.
Biathle Training – Arrive early and join members of Team USA in running and swimming training sessions.
