USA Diving Releases 2021 FINA World Cup Roster as Divers Aim for Olympic Spots
USA Diving will be sending nine athletes to the 2021 FINA World Cup to take place in Tokyo, Japan May 1-6, 2021. Among the athletes are 2016 Olympians Kassidy Cook, Michael Hixon and Jessica Parratto as well as newly crowned NCAA Div. 1 Champions Sarah Bacon, Andrew Capobianco and Brandon Loschiavo.
At this event, USA Diving will look to secure an additional five Olympic Spots after securing seven of the maximum 12 spots available at the 2019 FINA World Championships. The spots being sought after are two individual spots for the Women’s three-meter, as well as the Men’s and Women’s three-meter synchronized spots and the Men’s ten-meter synchronized spot,
“We are excited to head to Tokyo and have our athletes get back to international competition,” said USA Diving’s High-Performance Director, Dan Laak, “The past fifteen months have been extremely challenging, but our athletes have continued to train and stay motivated. I am extremely confident in the team we are bringing to Tokyo for the World Cup and look forward to seeing how they perform.
