USA Diving Olympic Trials: Laura Wilkinson Makes Olympic Team on Platform

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 22. LAURA Wilkinson, a 2000 Olympic gold medalist held off youngster Haley Ishimatsu for the top women's platform spot at the USA Diving Olympic Trials held at the IU Natatorium at IUPUI.
Wilkinson collected 1,214.50 points to win and secure her berth on the 2008 Beijing Games roster, while Ishimatsu (1,140.40) led a quintet of other divers that qualified for the team selection camp taking place in Knoxville, Tenn., at the beginning of next month.
Cassandra Cardinell (1,059.90), Brittany Viola (1,046.25), Jessica Livingston (1,014.60) and Mary-Beth Dunnichay (899.85) will also appear at the selection camp, while Wilkinson will be required to attend to prove her physical readiness to compete in Beijing at the time.
